Entr'acte

Composed for a New Music at Maryland concert at the University of Maryland. This short, brooding piece begins with an atmosphere of quiet premonition. A lyrical horn solo leads the ensemble to a furious climax before the texture collapses into fragmentary gestures. 

Instrumentation: flute, oboe (or soprano sax), clarinet in Bb, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass trombone
