I teach music theory, composition, and piano in the Washington, DC area. I also serve as the chair of the music theory and composition department at the Levine School of Music. I have previously music theory and composition at the University of Maryland, Towson University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Cal State Northridge, and Hood College.

I teach composers of all ages and experience levels. Students under my tutelage have won MTNA composition competitions for Maryland and Washington DC. I primarily work with students who are interested in studying historical compositional techniques used in Baroque, classical, and Romantic musical styles.

I have guided students through successful Royal Conservatory Examinations up to Level 9 in both piano and music theory.

I'm available for in-person or virtual lessons. If you're interested in private lessons, please email me at: evanmeier@gmail.com
