I teach music theory, composition, and piano in the Washington, DC area. I also serve as the chair of the music theory and composition department at the Levine School of Music. I have previously music theory and composition at the University of Maryland, Towson University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Cal State Northridge, and Hood College.

I teach composers of all ages and experience levels. Students under my tutelage have won MTNA composition competitions for Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC in all age categories. I primarily work with students who are interested in improving their compositional skills through the study of harmony, counterpoint, musical form, and other traditional compositional techniques.

I have guided students through successful Royal Conservatory Examinations up to Level 10 in both piano and music theory.
